    UPDATE - October 5, 2023
Everything below the asterisks is still accurate and I have more to add.

I had an appointment with the Nurse Practitioner, Allison Gabbert, on October 4, 2023. She was absolutely fantastic and I look forward to making upcoming appointments to see her. The medical assistants and phlebotomist were great too. Everyone was very personable and professional.

I was there for my annual physical as well as a specific health concern. I had blood work and urinalysis done in the afternoon and got the results from the lab this morning - the very next day! Allison also followed up with notes on some specific results.

I can’t say enough positive things about Allison. She was beyond thorough and receptive to my questions and concerns. It was clear that she really listened and processed everything I was saying, made connections, and considered everything in context of me as an individual - not just as a generic, one size fits all patient. Allison was proactive, anticipated my concerns, answered all my questions, set my mind at ease about certain things, and set realistic expectations.

My specific health concern is something I’ve been seeing a specialist from a different practice for for months now. That doctor has done two different biopsies, prescribed other tests and several kinds of medicines and treatments, and is still flummoxed and seems to be grasping at any odd possible diagnosis she can think of.

Regarding that concern, Allison took a swab of the area and, as soon as our appointment was over, she went straight to do research on a suspicion she had based on what I’d told her and what she’d observed. Mind you, everything I told her was what I’d told the specialist. Although my appointment with her was over, I still had to get a vaccine and do the urinalysis. By the time I was done with those she caught me on my way to check out and took me to an exam room to tell me what she’d found. She had the likely diagnosis, showed me pictures that looked exactly like what’s going on with me, and confirmed that this is something that’s endemic to where I’d been traveling. She also had a way forward for treatment.

My experience with Allison was miles different than with the specialist from a different practice. Overall - and with this concern in particular - I felt heard, cared for, and respected - all of which made me feel comfortable and confident in her care. Solid 5 star review and recommendation for Allison Gabbert at Alexandria Medical Associates!

Easy and professional from start to finish. The appointment system is so much more efficient for everyone - it can be by text so you can respond when you’re ready and neither party has to be on hold or interrupted.

Asma did a terrific job setting up appointments for me and my husband. Both of us are new patients and had special requests/circumstances and she found a way to accommodate us. She provided thorough instructions as well so there were no surprises. The woman at intake made a good first impression of the practice - always important.

Tara was my nurse. Lovely demeanor, set me at ease, didn’t rush me, and answered any questions I had (or quite rightly recommended I ask the Doctor if it was out of her scope.)

Mara was my phlebotomist. When I told her I sometimes faint, she made sure I was doing ok and that I felt fine before I left. She did an amazing job. No lump, no discoloration - I can’t even see the needle mark.

Dr. Ghadge showed no ego - just competence - and made me feel confident in her exam and assessment. It was a quick but thorough visit and she was open to answering or addressing other questions if I’d had any.

It was a positive experience all the way around.
